KICD is currently training staff members at the Kenya School of Government. The first group is undergoing training in Senior Management Course (SMC) which helps an officer in their upward mobility and is a requirement for promotion in government offices. It started from 13th Jan to 7th Feb 2014. Another group is undergoing training on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) this course helps to build staff capacity in data processing analysis validation and interpretation. Majority of the staff who are on this training are from the CRS department. It will run from 13th Jan- 24th Jan.
The special needs education section has embarked teachers for the two different groups. Currently teachers and field officers are being oriented on developed syllabuses for learners with deaf blind from early childhood to community based learners. Orientation is also ongoing for teachers and field officers on curriculum for learners with autism. The section is also editing revised Kenyan sign language for schools.
